What’s in Your Belief Wallet?

Today was a beautiful, early spring day full of sunshine inviting me to take an enjoyable walk in the park; however, it sent shivers up and down the daffodils in the 37 degree morning temperature. As the day winds down on this rare, peaceful scene, ominous, dark clouds gather in the western sky. They foreshadow snowflakes falling tonight even as the buds continue to open in spring’s expected ups and downs.

The culture is having its own version of Spring instability. The media outlets daily bring news leaving one feeling, “Is there any good left in the world?” You can’t avoid what is happening ‘out there.’ But you can know what you believe and in whom you believe.

When Jesus was arrested in the night, the disciples fled in fear for their own safety, leaving him behind. All except Peter, who followed at a distance, then vehemently lied about knowing him in order to avoid arrest. Jesus was left alone by his friends, but that didn’t stop him from knowing in whom he believed--his Heavenly Father. Mankind couldn’t stop the plans of God and in fact, participated in carrying them out.

“In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He (the Messiah) shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.”

(Jeremiah 33:15, AMP)

the days following, all looked lost to those who knew Jesus. The first day of the week, they rush to the tomb and find it empty--he was resurrected from the dead. Here’s the big surprise for those who thought they were done with him--he is returning. When he comes, the Righteous Judge will come to sit on the throne of his ancestor King David and establish the Kingdom of God on earth. He will bring long-awaited justice; ruling with mercy and truth.

The future is something to get excited about! For the here-and-now, learn to stand firm in your faith. Continue doing good works, humble yourself before him; cast your cares on Him because He cares for you and be an example of love to others.

If the sky is threatening rain, make sure to carry your umbrella…

Blessings to you as you go forth into the world today. May you be a light in the

darkness.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139: 23-24, AMP)
