My friend recently told me after watching the news of people fleeing in fear and desperation for their lives, was left depressed and dejected because she felt there was nothing she could do to help those people.
One woman a half a world away can’t do anything to help people living in desperate situations in another country--or can she?
A couple I know were in that country for 20 years, teaching school and developing relationships with the local population giving encouragement and hope. She would write how the Lord was moving in the hearts of the people and changing lives.
They recently returned home for a season and watched as the tumult unfolded before the television cameras. God loves the marginalized people of this world and does not forget them. The work this couple invested in was neither in vain nor lost. The people of faith there are praying for their countrymen/women and aren’t giving up on them and neither should we.

Join me and many others lifting up our brothers and sisters worldwide to be strong in the LORD, to stand in confidence and not waiver because He is a high tower and those who run to Him find a shield and protection (Psalm 18:2 and Prov. 18:10).
Let’s join together in unity and walk in hope and not in futility and be tenderhearted toward one another, just as in Christ, God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31)
